Not just shoes but works of art, Kobi Levi's designs are weird, wacky and downright outrageous. And, if you fancy channelling your inner Lady Gaga and working it in a pair of shark-inspired shoes, now is your chance: 25 styles from the designer's latest collection are being introduced to the UK via a pop-up boutique in London's Selfridges.
Ducks, cheerleaders and Madonna may seem to be unexpected inspirations but the resulting looks are humorous yet incredible, and provide a quirky change from the fashion norm.
Israeli designer Levi has come a long way since making his first pair of shoes - from cardboard - to worldwide recognition from the likes of Vogue Italia and hot design mag Dezeen. He started uploading his creations to a blog in April, sending his career sky-rocketing almost overnight. When Lady Gaga comes knocking at your door eager to wear her favourite design (the 'double boot'), in one of her most iconic videos ever (Born This Way), you know you're on to a winner.
"This is a dream come try for me," says Levi of his new Selfridges home. "I invite all women to visit, feel the shoes, see how real they are and try them on."
Each pair is limited edition and, with only twenty available globally, is definitely a unique investment buy. The collection will be available at Selfridges' Shoes Galleries from 22 October.
Whether it be an ostrich, flamingo or swan that takes your fancy, step out in one of Levi's design's and reap the wild, wonderful rewards.
Prices range from ??650 to ??2,050. Available at Selfridges from 22 October.
