The day before Thanksgiving, there was a line in front of Brooklyn’s Four & Twenty Blackbirds that wrapped around the block when the pie shop opened at 8 a.m. But waiting proved a pointless task, as pies were sold out in five minutes. Lesson learned? Pre-order your holiday pies for pick up. If the decision of which pie to buy wasn’t already difficult enough, sisters Melissa and Emily Elsen have added a new seasonal treat to the menu. Called Egg ‘N’ Grog, it features? rich and sweet egg nog custard with hints of rum and nutmeg, baked a in their homemade gingerbread crust. It’s so delightful, even the egg nog hater will love this sweet treat.
