Louboutin Launches Online Boutique (At Last!) New!

Get excited, Christian Louboutin fans: today is the auspicious day that the uber-shoe label throws open the virtual doors to its first ever online European boutique.

The long-awaited launch is part of the brand's 20-year anniversary celebrations, which also incorporate the beautiful Anniversary Capsule Collection - 20 shoe and six bag styles that pay homage to Louboutin's irreverent magic.

"In France, 20 years defines a generation," declared the man himself as the collection was launched. "This is a celebration of the first generation of this brand; an anniversary of its first young adventure."

The new e-commerce site continues that adventure and, in true Louboutin style, it's anything but vanilla. While the focus is on a seamless user experience (you can opt to fast-track or browse from the get-go), the flair is there - not only in the products, which include the men's and women's spring/summer 2012 collections and selected classic styles as well as the '20 Ans' capsule, but also in the design, which sees the shoes displayed against photographic backgrounds ranging from palm trees to chickens.

An app, video views and pre-order functionality are in the pipeline.
