Interview: Spring Style Tips From Lori Goldstein

What are your Spring wardrobe staples?

I love my black cropped leggings – they go with everything! I also can’t live without my Rick Owens tank tops…they make great layering pieces, I wear them under almost everything!

What is your go-to outfit for this season?
No matter what season, I always find a good go to outfit from Marni. I love their color palates and prints, its an easy way for me to quickly get “dressed up” without too much thought.

What is your best styling tip for transitional weather dressing?
I always love a good flannel, or a lightweight cardigan / sweater. These days you never really know what the weather will be like so it’s always good to have a light layering piece with you.

What was your last styling disaster?
I wouldn’t say disaster, but last year I was working on a story for W Magazine, and I pulled many gorgeous furs in all colors intending to make that the focal point, however, upon styling the first look the model informed me that she doesn’t wear fur so I had to quickly change the whole concept! The story ended up being gorgeous regardless, so it definitely wasn’t a disaster, just a challenge!

What fashion moment made you want to become a stylist?
I’ve always loved fashion, and have worked in the industry since my very first retail job in Ohio!

Where do you take most of your inspiration from?
I find inspiration from all over…friends, family, nature, art…it’s all going on always!

What do you do in your spare time while you aren’t styling?
I’m always working on something, whether its looking for my next OpenSky discovery, or designing my line for QVC.
