In the Eyes of Oscar Winners

As I await the melee of emails about to cram my mailbox, filled with red carpet looks and insider make-up tips from the A-list, the team over at Olay asked me to predict which nominated celebs will draw from the past to recreate ICONIC WOW! EYES from winners past.

I feel a flashback in our near future…

All eyes will be on Jennifer Lawrence as she makes a second round down the Oscars red carpet as the youngest person to ever be nominated, twice, first for 2010′s Winter Bone, and now as the recovering sex addict in Silver Linings Playbook, a role which gave her some wicked dance moves with a very sexy Bradley Cooper, a man, I’ve had my WOW! eye on for sometime.

Known for having a dramatic smokey eye, I can see Jennifer drawing some beauty inspiration from past winner Reese Witherspoon, who’s love story with a drug addicted Johnny Cash in Walk the Line closely parallels her love interest in SLP. I predict a toned-down eye, which she could base using Olay Regenerist Eye & Lash Duo. One part line-reducing cream for lids, one part enhancing serum for lashes, it’s the perfect combo for Oscar-worthy eyes.

This year, Anne Hathaway was at the top of her game, stealing the show in the last incarnation of the Dark Knight trilogy as Catwoman and bringing on the tears as the ill fated Fantine in Les Miserables, a role which has her up for Best Supporting Actress.

A few days ago, I spotted Anne, making her necessary rounds at the pre-parties which Vanity Fair hosts before the big night (I’ve been living la vida Oscars all week as the magazine’s Twitter Corespondent for @VFAgenda). In a white embroidered cocoon jacket and matching dress, the petite actress spent the night chatting up Amanda Seyfried and Isla Fisher, wife of co-star Sasha Baron Cohen, making every guest in attendance surround the gaggle of celebrities and congregate around her gravitational pull.

Few actresses have that kind of power, but I imagine Angelina Jolie to be one in the same caliber, which is why I’m predicting that Anne will draw inspiration from the former Oscar winner (Angelina took home the prize for Girl, Interrupted), while calling reference to her role as Batman’s love interest, by hitting the red carpet with a glam cat eye, sexing up her pixie cut, and undoubtedly landing on this years best dressed lists.

With this years Zero Dark Thirty, Jessica Chastain catapulted her status in Hollywood, making a b-line for the A-List while grabbing awards along the way. In the past, this contender for Best Actress in a Motion Picture has won with her stunning red locks and bright lip, a look she’s paired with a drama-free eye, which overall, has resulted in great runway moments, with little to speak of in the beauty department.

For this season, I hope the actress takes some risks, possibly drawing from former winner Elizabeth Taylor, who took home Oscar for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf and Butterfield 8, but not before giving us the perfect graphic eye in Cleopatra. Definitely different from what we’ve seen Jessica do in the past, but one which would help establish her as a fearless fashionista, unafraid of an Iconic WOW! Eye.
