The fashion desk unapologetically adores master designer Matthew Williamson's every bright and bold move, so naturally our cup over runneth with questions for Sienna Miller's BFF. From what's on his iPod to his personal wardrobe faux pas, we meet the man who brought contemporary colour to our wardrobes.
Which designers do you really admire?
I admire the work of Dries van Noten as he quietly does his thing season in, season out, and the clothes speak for themselves. He has a strong brand DNA which appeals to my sensibility.
If someone wants to stand out in a crowd, they should...
Knowing you look good gives you confidence. Confidence is an attractive quality and will always make you stand out in a crowd.
What was your career turning point?
I've had quite a few over the last 15 years! Opening my first flagship store on Bruton Street in London was a big career highlight for me, as it allowed me to express my vision to its fullest potential for the first time in a controlled environment.
Before you hit the big time, did you have a saying or thought that kept your spirits up?
Take one day at a time and believe in what you do. You have to believe it first before anyone else will.
What is your favourite shop in your home town?
I consider London to be my home town now as I've lived here for over 20 years. There are so many great stores in the city. I love the fashion stores on Bruton and Mount Street, as well as the independent smaller boutiques in places like Primrose Hill.
What's the cringiest outfit in your family photo album?
There are way too many to mention one! I would say my fashion sense from the age of 7 - 16 was pretty haphazard and experimental. With age you tend to refine your taste.
What are you working on at the moment?
I have a lot on this year?€¦ I am currently working with Sony on their new line of Cybershot cameras, which I used for the show over LFW. I really need a good compact camera that can shoot in dim light, as it's crucial that I have a record of the process of before a show. This Cybershot camera is an essential tool, and it's really quite straightforward to use.
We are working on our new spring collection, as well as an exciting collaboration with the artist Mat Collishaw for a 'Britain creates' project during the Olympics. It is also a big year for the brand as well, as we are discussing ideas to celebrate this year as we are 15 years old as a business.
Name a few A-list ladies you rate fashion-wise:
I love Dree Hemmingway's personal style, Olivia Palermo, Mary Charteris and, of course, Sienna Miller.
What is the most played song on your playlist?
M.I.A.'s Bad Girls and anything by Foster The People and Metronomy.
