Attending the Vanity Fair or Where a Bit of Wit Can Take You

In a stroke of complete genius, I’ve been asked by Vanity Fair to tweet on @VFAgenda during some of the best parties they host for the Oscar’s. That’s right Indies, I’m going to Hollywood.

So a few months ago, Saynt and I were slouching at home on a Sunday night, watching old episodes of Girls while making our way through a shared pie of Motorino’s. In the stupor of our domesticated “bliss” I found myself on Vanity Fair, scanning through the society pages for a who’s whom of who’s I should know. A few clicks through and I was on the landing page for a twitter contest they were hosting, part of their Campaign Hollywood events, a series of celebrity parties the brand hosts in celebration of lovely sponsors, on behalf of movies like Silver Lining’s Playbook and Les Miserables.

Calling for a creative runway worthy-tweet, I pieced together some thoughts on Lena Dunham managing a #flawless look on the red carpet by wearing Converse and a mesh tank top, and somehow was selected to win an ultimate prize sponsored by the good folks at Fiat. So, tomorrow morning, I’m flying to Los Angeles to take over the @VFAgenda account and party it up with celebs at more after parties than my little fashion week damaged feeties can possibly handle.

To celebrate, I donned a red carpet-worthy Calvin Klein collection gown, an Adolfo Sanchez neck cuff and a pair of Kurt Geiger heels, and had one last taste of New York at Papaya Dog.

As you can tell, I’m still a little shocked…and hungry.
